Hello everyone! I hope you all are enjoying the weekend!
Here is an update on my week:
1. We had two "ice days" this week which meant school was cancelled! yay!
2. I observed a party today at Sweet and Sassy and will be put into the schedule this week! This is how the party went:
- the girls arrived and got dressed in the dress of their choice
-next they got their hair fixed and nails done
- then came the make-up
I thought this all looked like fun but I also hope all of those little girls know they're beautiful the way they are without all of the extra stuff.
-then they played dancing games on the runway... it was a lot of fun!
3. I dropped Astronomy- I just can't seem to stay in a science course, I hate it. So I will be taking Geology in 3 weeks during the summer to get it out of the way and another science in a 4 week session to get it over quick. I have a meeting with my advisor on Wednesday.
4. Brian was sick so I had to do New CD Friday by myself yesterday but I think it still went well, it was just nerve-racking.
That's really about it for now.
Love!

It's Cold!
Hello! I hope you're all starting your week off nicely! I started mine off bright (well dark) and early this morning at 4:30. This is how Mondays will be this semester since I have to be at the radio station at 6:00. But I really like it, so I don't mind.
I just got a job today as a party coordinator at Sweet and Sassy, a salon for little girls. I'm really excited because it will give me some event planning experience to add to my resume. And because it should be a lot of fun!
I had my first big photography assignment that I shot yesterday. It was a lot of fun. Those of you on facebook will be able to see the pictures now in the albums labeled Photography Assignment 1, there are 2 of them. I took them of my friend Gen and of Shayne at the Botanical Gardens.
New CD Friday went well although I was a little nervous. Thanks to those of you who are listening!
(Mimi, my Women's Memoirs and Fiction class is taught by Bonnie Blackwell. I'm really enjoying it.)
Love you all,
Lyndsay

This Week So Far
Monday was a school holiday, but I had my first shift at the radio that morning at 7am. I learned the ropes and got a hang of it pretty well... then I scrapped the country playlist that was automatically in the computer system and played what I wanted because here at KTCU we're allowed to do that. Around 8 I got a call from a woman on her way to work telling me she just heard 3 great songs on our station and that it made her morning. That was awesome. It's good to know I can make others feel good and start their day right with music. I'm currently sitting here on my third shift and it's going great. I'm really looking forward to my Friday morning shift at 9am. Listen to New CD Friday then to hear our reviews of new cds that came out this week.
Today I've been at the station most of the day but I also had my Women's Memoirs and Fiction class. I'm really enjoying it. Today we discussed race issues, it was a very interesting discussion. And I read in Dad's blog today about Georgia wanting to make April Confederate History Month and agree that it is ridiculous.
Last weekend-
Saturday Shayne had Rock the Basement shoots all day (www.rockthebasement.com), and I knew he'd be tired when he got home so I made BBQ chicken, his favorite, and put on a new Jazz CD I'd bought in honor of the Rebirth of Cool. (We also made martinis last week in honor of it). So anyway Saturday wasn't really planned out but it was the little things that counted and it turned out to be both of our favorite "date" we've had. Sunday, we celebrated our 5 month anniversary with Sushi as is our monthly tradition.
This weekend Kim might come visit and we're going to see Veloura in Denton on Saturday.
That's all for now. I hope all of you are well. Feel free to e-mail me and tell me what's going on in your lives I would really love to stay more connected and am interested in all of your lives as well.
Much love,
Lyndsay

First Day Of School
Hello.
so today was the first day of my last spring semester at TCU.
And like most first days it was completely pointless, hand out the syllabus, rattle on about class expectations...blah blah blah. Two of my three professors kept us the whole class period... not cool for the first day!
At least two of the three classes will be interesting, but a lot of work.
Today I had FM Stations Operations (radio), Photography, and intro to astronomy
Tomorrow I have topics in math and womens fiction & memoirs
and finally on wednesday I will have topics in television.
Good news is I'm signed up for 18 hours and have to drop a class. Any nominations on which one? I'm leaning toward math or womens fict. and mem.
other than that I got my car fixed... thanks mom! and now Shayne's is having trouble.
The new house is great and my roommate is the cleanest I've ever had!
That's all for now.
Love.

Ready This Time
Good Morning readers! I woke up this beautiful morning in Boerne and have decided I'm actually ready to get home to Fort Worth AND ready to go back to school. I think the fact that I'm moving makes me feel better about all of it.
More later. Have a lovely day!

Hello again!
I'm feeling a little better as the day goes on. I will be returning to Waco tomorrow then to Fort Worth on Thursday.
I told my grandparents (mom's side) that I planned on being with them for Easter and my grandmother said Shayne is invited. My grandfather asked me if he is Jewish! haha! I don't know why, but I assured him that he isn't. I also told him that he wasn't anything and wasn't going to be as far as religion goes. So then he asked me if I'd ever consider marrying a "non-believer" to which I replied yes. Then he asked me if it would bother me to know that I'd be going one place when I died and Shayne wouldn't to which he immediately remembered that I don't believe in hell and dropped the subject. I think that actually went quite well considering it could've been much worse. Anyhow, I think Shayne is probably planning to come Easter although he's more than a bit nervous.
Today was a good day, hopefully I'll feel even better tomorrow.
Goodnight all!

Sick in Boerne
Hello! I arrived in Boerne Saturday and have been sick ever since I got here. Apparently I have an upper respiratory infection....blah! But now I'm all drugged up and feeling better...with the exception of my throat which feels worse.
I'm supposed to be moving Thursday-Sunday but I don't know if that will be happening as quickly now. Hopefully I'll be better by then!
Meanwhile I'm killing time in Boerne by watching movies and taking these silly internet quizzes... here are a few just for laughs....

| Your Spiritual Number is Five |
You are willing to challenge your friends and push them to grow. Right now, your life is about figuring out where to direct your energy. If you're not careful, you can become too unreliable or flighty. You need the perfect project. You live a free form life - which allows you to be very innovative and a great problem solver. Rules, schedules, and structure practically destroy you. You have to do things your own way. |

A Brief Introduction
I'm not exactly good at writing about myself or world issues. I'm mostly writing to stay in touch with my family and a few close friends. I'm sure much of it will turn out to be rambling which I apologize for in advance. I guess I will start with a little bit about myself in case someone I don't know takes interest in reading it... and because it seems like an easy place to start.
School and Career- I am a 22 year-old senior at a private university in Texas. My major is General Studies with an emphasis in business. I have no clue what I want to do when I finish, I'm constantly changing my mind. I do know that I would like to travel to Europe after I finish, though I never know where life will lead me. I don't really plan ahead which drives my mother nuts, I tend to do everything spontaneously. Whatever I end up doing after college will probably be a decision I make on a whim.
Family- I grew up living with both of my parents and my brother until I was 15, at which time my parents divorced. I moved in with my grandparents (dad's side) and finished high school in Waco. My brother lives with my mom and my father is now remarried with two dogs and a cat. My brother just finished high school and will begin college in the fall. I am very close with both sides of my family although they are polar opposites.
Relationship- After 21 years of being single, I finally found someone worth dating. I've been in a relationship with Shayne, a UT grad, for nearly 5 months now. I get shy talking about me and Shayne because I don't want to appear like a stupid girl in love but I totally am mesmerized by him. We are complete opposites but somehow make a sickeningly wonderful match. Ok Shayne, I'll shut up and quit embarassing you now.
I'm sure there is much more to tell you but that's enough for now.

Welcome Welcome 2009
Happy New Year to all! I've decided to start blogging again... thanks Dad for the inspiration. As some of you know I blogged last summer while on the trip from you know where. And I thought it'd be nice to start again.
I came up with the name "Creative Destruction" by looking at a list of oxymorons. Close seconds were American Beer, Constant Change, Christian Right, and my favorite oxymoron Country Music. Nevertheless Creative Destruction sounded more dramatic and thus won out.
Anyways it is late so alas I am retiring to bed.
Goodnight.
