This Week So Far

Monday was a school holiday, but I had my first shift at the radio that morning at 7am. I learned the ropes and got a hang of it pretty well... then I scrapped the country playlist that was automatically in the computer system and played what I wanted because here at KTCU we're allowed to do that. Around 8 I got a call from a woman on her way to work telling me she just heard 3 great songs on our station and that it made her morning. That was awesome. It's good to know I can make others feel good and start their day right with music. I'm currently sitting here on my third shift and it's going great. I'm really looking forward to my Friday morning shift at 9am. Listen to New CD Friday then to hear our reviews of new cds that came out this week.

Today I've been at the station most of the day but I also had my Women's Memoirs and Fiction class. I'm really enjoying it. Today we discussed race issues, it was a very interesting discussion. And I read in Dad's blog today about Georgia wanting to make April Confederate History Month and agree that it is ridiculous.

Last weekend-
Saturday Shayne had Rock the Basement shoots all day (www.rockthebasement.com), and I knew he'd be tired when he got home so I made BBQ chicken, his favorite, and put on a new Jazz CD I'd bought in honor of the Rebirth of Cool. (We also made martinis last week in honor of it). So anyway Saturday wasn't really planned out but it was the little things that counted and it turned out to be both of our favorite "date" we've had. Sunday, we celebrated our 5 month anniversary with Sushi as is our monthly tradition.

This weekend Kim might come visit and we're going to see Veloura in Denton on Saturday.

That's all for now. I hope all of you are well. Feel free to e-mail me and tell me what's going on in your lives I would really love to stay more connected and am interested in all of your lives as well.

Much love,
Lyndsay

Who is your prof. for the Women's Memoir and Fiction class?
I also am glad you like your new living arrangement and that you were able to get a guy to take your lease on the former house...
